A carp syndicate
in East Sussex, created to provide a small group of like
minded experienced carp anglers the opportunity to fish a
stunning estate lake and enjoy their sport in peaceful
uncrowded surroundings.
Although not always an easy lake, multiple catches can be acheived by the thinking angler. The fishing can be varied with carp being caught on a variety of different baits and methods. Any good quality boilies and pellets will always bring success but particles and other baits also have their day. It can also bring results to the surface angler.
The lake received an initial stocking of 40 english carp from Mark Simmons in 2006 followed by a second stocking of some stunning hand picked scaley mirror carp from VS Fisheries and Handy Carp. We now have a great mix of commons, leathers, linears and fully scaled carp to fish for.
We think we have created a little piece of fishing paradise, how syndicates used to be.
If your looking for a
lake off the beaten carp fishing track look no
further.
Membership is offered for over 18's only.
Forming
part of a stunning privately owned park near Crowborough in East
Sussex this mature man made lake can be found just
five minutes walk from the secure parking area. The lake is stream
fed and dates back to the early seventies. Stretching just
over 9 acres and surrounded by many broadleaf trees and deep pine
forests the banks are quiet and uncrowded something seldom
found on lakes these days. Anglers can indulge their passion
for fishing in safe and private surroundings.
Fishing is from one of the thirteen comfortable swims. To keep anglers gear mud free all swims are covered with wood chips and are linked by a meandering path also covered in wood chip.
In 2009 many of the sunken trees
and snags were removed from the lake to create a safer fishing
environment. The lake also benefits from being drained
annually in order to reduce the quantities of silver fish ensuring
the best water quality and fish health.
The lake boasts two islands, a quiet bay, varying depths from 2ft - 15ft and numerous underwater features.
Although the exact stocks are not
known the carp stock is thought to be around 130 including stunning
hand picked scaley mirror carp from VS Fisheries and Handy Carp and
lighter scaled mirrors from Mark Simmonds. The lake still holds a
good number of the original common and mirror carp which have been
in the lake for many years.
